The mother-of-pearl handles are decorated with an escutcheon and vermeil ferrules, as are the blades.
The whole is in excellent condition both in terms of mother-of-pearl and vermeil.
Note that a handle does not have a completely straight edge due to a lack of mother-of-pearl which for me is original and is not due to a shock (see photos). Also to note, a blade has a striped side, and the vermeil is a little more faded (see photos).
The series is stamped with the old man, but they are not all by the same goldsmith. Two knives are hallmarked for the old man from the provinces with a goldsmith's mark "JD", nine for the old Parisian and the goldsmith's mark "PC", and finally seven for the old Parisian and the goldsmith "SJ".
The set is presented in a case provided for this purpose.
French work from the 19th century between 1819 and 1838 (date of use of the old man mark).
