Pique Skirt In Percale Printed With Bouquets - Marseille Provence Circa 1840

Circa 1840/1860 Provence. Beautiful Provencal piqué skirt in iced and piqué percale, Marseille Romantic period. Wood-plank printing on glossy cotton with floral bouquets arranged in staggered rows. Quilting at the front point forming small diamonds and twelve beads at the bottom of the skirt flat and not mounted at the waist. In antique mint condition with the original primer and stencil. White cotton lining with traces of dust at the folds. Provenance from a Bastide Marseillaise in the 9th arrondissement. No damage. Some rare areas of slight yellowing otherwise, excellent condition of color and conservation. Dimensions: height 101 cm x 250 cm long.
