Flautist, bronze covered with a black patina, Rachel Van Dantzig (1878-1949), signed and stamped by the foundry. Rachel Van Dantzig (Rotterdam 12/11/1878 - 15/020/1949 Auderghem), sculptor. Rachel Margaretha Van Dantzig was first a pupil of S. Miedema at the Rotterdam Academy. She continued her studies at the Academy of Brussels, with the sculptor Charles Van Der Stappen and then in Paris, with F. Calorossi. Undertakes study trips to Italy, Spain and Germany. Active in Rotterdam and Amsterdam. In 1918, after the First World War, she moved to 44 avenue Giovaert in Auderghem / Brussels. Continue to work in the traditional style, sculpting nudes, portraits and animals. She was awarded gold and silver medals in Amsterdam (1913), Rotterdam (1915) and Kortrijk, as well as honorary degrees in various exhibitions. Member of "Arti et Amicitiae", she participates in national and international exhibitions.
