Pair of cinnabar lacquer vases with relief carved decorations of characters in landscapes. The collars are decorated with foliage scrolls. Of different colors, the most popular lacquers are red, obtained from resin of lacquer abre associated with mercury sulphide, a mineral pigment already used during prehistoric times for wall painting. Chinese work of the 19th century. Accident visible to one of the vases (see photos). Height: 31.5 cm. Diameter: 16 cm.
