He studied at the École des Beaux-Arts de Saint-Omer1, then at the École des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. From 1908, he exhibited at the Paris Salon.In 1914, he received the National Prize of the Salon des Artistes Français.On April 13, 1916, in the middle of the First World War, he was appointed painter of the armies. In addition to his career as a painter and lithographer, he was curator of the Saint-Omer museum from 1929.1
His paintings L'Orchestre (National School of Music and Dance of Saint-Omer) and L'Enterrement (Eglise Saint-Sépulcre) de Saint-Omer) are listed as historical monuments.
