"Pair Of Empire Candlesticks, Sterling Silver, Goldsmith François Drion, Liège Around 1830"
Splendid pair of Empire candlesticks in solid silver with the maker's mark of the famous silversmith François Drion, member of the Liège goldsmith dynasty. They are quite typical of the Empire production of the goldsmiths of the former principality of Liège with their frieze of swans with outstretched wings on the foot and the four caryatids with a bare breast below the binets. They are in an exceptional state of conservation. They weigh 680 grams.
