Old Féraghan carpet, from the second half of the 19th century, in very good condition, collection decorated with Herati patterns on the whole of the midnight blue field and four small spandrels.
# The border of the real ancient Féraghan presents a curious effect due to the handling of a mixture of a plant, a Persian spurge and copper sulphate which produces "wolf milk" as the natives call it, producing an effect.

This chemical reaction allows the decoration of the border to stand out in relief.
The Féraghan have long been the favorite rugs of the English, with powerful and attractive colors.
The characteristic decoration was the herati motif with its rosette, rhombus and curly leaves.
These rugs originate from the Féraghan district, east of Arak, a region of a fertile plain in Iran.
Our model is in very good condition for its age, has the characteristics described above and is a very beautiful collector's rug.
