Canvas stamped on the back "Rey & Perrot". * Charles Louis Eugène Assezat de Bouteyre, born in Clermont-Ferrand on July 7, 1864 and died in Antibes on April 3, 1942, is a French painter. Son of an attorney general of Clermont-Ferrand, pupil of William Bouguereau, Gabriel Ferrier and Robert Fleury, he obtained in 1892 an honorable mention at the salon of French artists of which he was a member. He participated in the decor of the Théâtre du Puy en Velay including the Smoking Room (1893-1895). His sketches are kept at the Crozatier museum in Puy en Velay as well as some of his paintings.
