"Early 19th Century Gold Box. Rémond, Lamy, Mercier & Co. à Genève. "
An important rectangular gold snuff box with rounded corners. The hinged cover is decorated with parallel strips forming a diamond pattern. The cover and base panels are adorned with palmette patterns on a matte background. The box is decorated with foliage patterns on "amati" background as well as in the rounded corners. On the box a monogram has been engraved A.S as well as an emblem: ducal crown surmounted by an eagle.

goldsmith: IGRC for Rémond, Lamy, Mercier & Co. à Genève. Jean-George Rémond (Hanau 1752- Hanau 1830) who during his long career in Geneva registered his last firm, Rémond, Lamy, Mercier & Co in 1811.
