"Cage Chandelier In Painted Sheet Metal, Patinated Iron And Pendants"
Cage chandelier with four lights, in patinated iron, polychrome painted sheet metal, glass beads, colored and transparent crystal pendants. Unique piece, the theme of the Far East is evoked by the representation of a pagoda surrounded by four different characters (musician, courtesan, woman and child) delicately painted by hand on a cut metal plate. The exuberant vegetal decoration which covers the whole presents two or three small welding accidents and visible oxidation points. The electricity is up to standard, the red pleated fabric clip lampshades are added and the bulb holder candles are in natural wax. Mid 19th century.
