Vases with sailboats, earthenware, Jean van Dongen (1883-1970), signed on the base. Jean van Dongen is a Dutch sculptor and ceramist, born in 1883, died in 1970. He is the brother of Kees van Dongen He was active in France and particularly in Marly-le-Roi, where he was the practitioner of Aristide Maillol. His work as a ceramicist is quite confidential, he worked in this field with Picasso.
