Francisque Edouard Bertier (1840-1925) was born in Paris, he was a pupil of BOUGUEREAU and CABANEL, he painted numerous portraits of English and American high society.
Several of his works are kept in museums and international institutions, such as the National Trust of Scotland, the National Gallery, the Mulhouse museum, Harvard university ... This Bertier 's freind portrait was executed when the painter was 
28 year old.
