Two rare "hardwood" medallions depicting Her Majesty the Empress Eugenie (Eugénie de Montijo 1826-1920) Empress of the French from 1853 to 1873 and her only son Prince Louis Napoleon Bonaparte (1856-1879) from sculptures by Jules constant Peyre, in heated wood pressed according to the patent of F Ch. Lepage (1803-1868), a colorful character; he was a journalist imprisoned under Louis XVIII, then a songwriter and inventor whose patent filed in 1855, They carry on the back in all letters the mention; "hardened wood" (pressed heated molded rosewood) dimensions: diameter 11.5cm circa 1860
