"Marquetry Table"
Large painting by Pierre Rosenau from the 1930s and 1940s, representing a landscape in Eastern France. This artist worked for ten years in the Gallè workshop, before creating his own workshop in the Faubourg Saint Antoine in Paris. This table includes about twenty different woods, from the lightest to the darkest, in order to achieve this landscape and give it this impressive relief. On a wall, this painting is a real window open on this beautiful landscape ........ Note that this painting has been completely refinished in order to bring out the colors and reliefs, which are often blurred with the old varnishes in stamp of the time.
