This symbolist composition in the vein of the painter's style, is part of a series of paintings painted in 1913 during his trip to Egypt, however, it was necessary to wait a few years after the war for see the whole exhibited in 1922 and for success to take shape, as evidenced by the large number of articles published on the occasion of the first exhibition to be entirely devoted to the painter, at 35 rue La Boëtie, Lahaye presents eighty-four canvases composed in Egypt, Corsica, Grenoble and Provence, The French state acquires the Egyptian triptych of La Salle hypostyle of karnak. One of the paintings of which is the oil on canvas version of our painting (see last photo) This triptych is kept and exhibited at the Guimet museum in Paris.
