** ART-DECO PERIOD, CIRCA 1920/30 **
In view of the quality of the object it is most certainly the work of a designer known.
Total height: 32cm / Height at the socket: 22 cm
Dimensions wood base: 12x11.3 cm / Sphere diameter: 9 cm / Weight: 1,000 g
This lamp model has a base made of a macassar ebony slab topped with 'a shaft enclosing a large sphere, also in ebony, between two crystal squares interspersed with rings.
The sphere is made of two hemispherical elements, the assembly joint of which is located under the rope.
Note that this lamp has just been renovated because the varnish had taken moisture, it had bleached and was chipped in places; in fact one could hardly distinguish the wood hidden by the varnish, which had become very opaque.
The electric wire was also replaced, the switch and the plug were kept.
The lampshade in used condition, it seems to be in sewn parchment; its metal frame is in good condition, it may need to be repainted and dressed identically.
