Portrait Of The Virgin Mary Early 17th Century

Lovely portrait of the Virgin Mary from the 17th century. It is an oil on canvas mounted on a larch wood panel. Sweet expression in the face and attitude, a piece of metal has been added on the head of the Virgin, it is a piece of metal stamped in low relief, cut out in the shape of an arc of a circle and probably in silver. There is no doubt that this element is posterior but it is what makes the whole history of this portrait or a fervent hand wanted to bring an additional spiritual ornamentation. I present to you this work as I discovered it and as it seduced me, despite wear and cracks (from the 17th century) ... a type of object that I particularly like, combining popular fervor, charm and authenticity.
