"18th Provencal Screen"
This large screen from the 18th century offers us a beautiful Provencal decor, where the water so precious in this province, is present on all the panels. From left to right: a fountain where men and animals quench their thirst, the mill and its typical wheel, the "lanvadiero" washerwomen of Provence by the river, and the goat and sheep keeper watching over her animals near the river. The lower panels remind us that from the 14th century the great noble families of the kingdom of France acquired and managed large wine estates in Provence. This 18th century screen, coming from a beautiful Provencal property, is the testimony of daily life on their estate. Height 194 cms Width of each sheet 66 cms.
