"Engraved Glass Goblet Early 19th Century"
Beautiful cut and engraved crystal goblet in a cylindrical shape, the bottom cut in a star with 8 branches, base cut with a large braid of ovals and a wide braid cut in a diamond point. Body decorated with a fine rotating engraving composed of four registers separated by a tulip. The first decoration represents a dog sitting with his collar in front of a ruined temple symbolizing fidelity, the second decoration represents two winged loves with their bows, one knee on the ground in front of a flaming torch, the third decoration represents an altar supporting two hearts flaming which are held by two doves by a thread, the fourth decoration represents an oval medallion underlined by a row of pearls in which is registered the number intended for its owner (JBG) framed by a rosebush and a truncated tree. The edge is engraved with a fine lace. Very good condition Height: 9.5 cm Diameter: 7 cm French work from the beginning of the 19th century in Creusot crystal and engraved in a Parisian workshop
