"Two Stew Spoons, Silver, Shell Fillets, Coat Of Arms, Bordeaux, XVIIIth"
Two silver stewing spoons, shell fillets model, the spatulas engraved with a knight's coat of arms, from the 18th century. For a spoon, master silversmith Jean Cheret, received in Bordeaux on August 23, 1775, Bordeaux 1779 - 1780, weight 151g length 31.2 cm. For the second, Bordeaux perhaps 1768 - 1769, only the load is visible, weight 160g length 31.5 cm. The spoons are engraved with the same coat of arms, probably at the end of the 18th century. These two stewing spoons may form a pair despite slight differences in designs, spoon staples and shells. Condition, good, little wear, the punches are difficult to read or very poorly marked.
