This elegant long-bearded guardian wears armor under a richly decorated costume adorned with a dragon's head, he holds a book in his right hand.It is in polychrome porcelain.
Accident to the left hand.
It comes from the descent of a Parisian collection for which it was acquired in the early 1980s at the Eymery house which was 372 rue Saint-Honoré 75008 Paris and which considered it from the Kien-Long or Qianlong period (1736-1796 ) as indicated on the label.
Christie's current expertise gives it more of the Kangxi period (1662-1722).
