Jean Antoine PINCHON (born and died in Paris, 1772 - 1850): Painter of genre and portraits, pupil of Vincent and the famous miniaturist painter Augustin, who put him in miniature. From 1795 to 1800, Pinchon exhibited at all the Salons, miniatures and paintings. he left for Russia, where the French were assured of a good reception. In 1801, J.-A. Pinchon was painter to Alexander I and Empress Elisabeth. Count J.-S. Chérémetieff possesses by Pinchon the portraits of the Emperor and his wife painted around these times; these are decisive findings; Pinchon is a remarkable pupil of Augustine. Then back in Paris, his works which consist of a large number of portraits and a few genre paintings, appeared in all the exhibitions of the MR of 1808 which followed one another until 1844. The Museum of Versailles has this painter: The portrait of Count Delaborde Henri-François, Lieutenant-General.
