"Painted Fan, Quadrille, Spain, XIXth Century"
Very elegant fan in its presentation box representing the exit of the quadrille in Spain at the end of the 19th century in the spirit of Goya. The fan is composed of an engraved and sculpted wood core with gold and silver highlights. The silk velvet is embellished with paintings with applications of gold and silver threads to make the "clothes of light" sparkle. Some slight tears but which in no way affected this very beautiful object of decoration. The framing is made to measure using a Spanish frame model. Label on the back of the frame manufacturer (most certainly 20th century)
