Etienne Maurice Falconnet (1716-1791) Two RARE sculptures in chiseled and gilded bronze from the 18th century representing; - Threatening Love, created for the salon of 1755, it will be ordered in marble for the gardens of the hotel d'Evreux (today the Elysée Palace) by the Marquise de Pmopadour -Psyché or "the little one girl hiding her arrows from Love "created for the Salon of 1761 by Falconnet to mirror Love our two subjects are in sand-cast bronze, the core visible in the interior heads, and assembled by assembly, the gilding in original mercury is in good condition They are presented on two circular turned wooden bases, lacquered and gilded total dimensions Height 36 / 37cm height of the subjects 26 / 27cm total diameter 20; 5cm of the subjects 0 / 12cm approx.
