"Atelier Du Baron Gros Drawing Academy Of Romantic Man Male Nude XIX"
Large academic drawing circa 1820 from a workshop drawing assembly, one of which bears the mention "éleve de Monsieur Gros" 54cm x 42cm good state of conservation restoration of small gaps on the edges. Most likely a drawing by a member of Gros's studio at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris from 1816 to 1835. The style is a transition between neoclassical and romantic academy. The face of great finesse capturing the romantic gaze of the model contrasts with faster treatment of the body without lacking accuracy, a treatment and a technique undoubtedly by the hand of a great painter of the first third of the 19th century.
