Pair of bronze plaques depicting Virgin Mary and Christ in profile. Surrounding text: Mater Jesu Christi, and Ego sum Via Veritas and Vita. Christ is represented bareheaded with long hair whose curls fall on the shoulders. These medallions are attributed to Pierre Goret, a medalist active in the southern Netherlands in the mid-17th century and seem to have been inspired by the work of the 16th century Italian medalist Antonio Abondio .... Height: 19 cm Width: 14, 5 cm. The Los Angeles County Museum of Art (Lacma) has an identical Christ medallion (n ° 79.4.324)
