Biography: Hervens Jacques was born in Sint-Joost-ten-Node, Brussels on December 1, 1890. He was a post-impressionist painter and aquafortist of landscapes and still lifes.
Student of Herman Richir at the Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels.
He creates beautiful compositions and was mainly fascinated by light and bright colours. His landscapes are treated in pure tones, in full paste, the touch is vigorous. He is a painter of the light and the sun, virtuoso of the technique and the colour.
Hervens Jacques stayed and painted in Italy and North Africa. He exhibited for the first time in 1914 and then took part in all the major art events at home and abroad.
The artist died on a young age in Sint-Lambrechts-Woluwe, Brussels on March 3, 1928.
Today, his work is sought after and collected by art enthusiasts around the world.
