Jean-Charles Moreux (1889-1956) was a French architecte. All along his career, he cared about various fields, from painting to astronomy. During his studies in the National School of Fine Arts in Paris, he met André Lurçat, another architect who influenced him in the realization of Purist style houses. Architect for several private clients, as the Vera brother, of which he re-arrange the villa in Saint-Germain-en-Laye, near Paris, among others, like Jacques Doucetor Robert de Rotschild, he also assumed State command such as the development of paintings galleries in the Louvre museum, and notably the Medicis gallery.
Founded at the beginning of the 20th century, the Maison Ramsay is specialized in furniture and decoration. It was particularly well-known in the 1950's thanks to its work on glass and gilt iron and also marble and stone for pieces inspired by Neoclassical models.
