"Indian Pata Gauntlet Sword"
An impressive pata gauntlet sword of characteristic hilt form and fitted with a flexible, broad, double-edged blade of European manufacture. Similar to south-Indian katars the blade is helt in position between two long langets and fixed with three rivets. The gauntlet is decorated with embossed chasing plant motives along the rim. The inside of the gauntlet has a layer of silver paint. A sturdy item in very good condition. Nice age patina overall. Blade edge has a few minuscule chips. 130 cm overall. 98 cm blade.
