After studying at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Phnom-Penh, which he joined at the age of 12, he in 1972 came to complete his training in France thanks in particular to a study grant obtained from the government. Fate wanted him to adopt France as a land of welcome, so it was there that he continued his research, first in Château Noir then in Puyloubier where he lives and works, at the foot of the Sainte mountain. Victory. His work bears the deep mark of a spirituality operating a syncretism between Eastern and Western thought, philosophers and artists, Tao and Nietzsche, Chinese scholars and the school of Catalan painters. To express himself, he uses various supports (canvas, cardboard, wood, Japanese paper) and tools (hand, foot, brush, spatula, scraper) and plays with materials (plaster, acrylic, oil, gold ink, India ink, collages). Sama began to exhibit in Provence in the 1980s, notably during two major exhibitions at the Vasarely Foundation in Aix en Provence and at the Vasarely Museum in Gordes in 1992 and 1993 which enabled him to make his works known to a large audience.
