Geneviève Chapront was born on October 30, 1909 in Rochefort-sur-Mer (Charente-Maritime).
A pupil of her father, the painter and illustrator Henry Chapront (1876-1965), she started at the Salon d'Automne in 1933, under the name Khmelukova, then resumed her name when she exhibited at the Salon des Tuileries between 1935 and 1946 and at the Salon des Femmes Peintres, notably in 1946. Close to the Communist Party, she participated in several exhibitions organized by the latter. She will also exhibit at the Populist Salon of Henri Ramey as well as at the Salon des Indépendants.
Listed in the Bénézit and the dictionary of painters in Montmartre.
