"Important Provençal Mirror XVIIth Century In Golden Wood."
Very rare mirror from the first third of the 17th century in gilded wood. It has been gilded with an ugly paint, which leaves for cleaning revealing the original gilding. It is probably from Provence and undoubtedly from Aix en Provence, possibly executed by an Italian artist. Decoration of foliage and flowers but also of heads, Bérain moldings garlands of small leaves and acanthus leaves at the corners. Few gaps. the beveled mirror is XIXth. Large dimensions, 97 cm x 84 cm. Deserves to be well restored because it is really râre and splendid.
