"Raymond Dierickx : "pamoison Of The Virgin / Ecce Homo""
Raymond Dierickx (1904-1978), “Pamoison de la Vierge / Ecce Homo”, watercolor / Charcoal, pastel and stump resto-verso 99.5 X 109 cm. Two eras, two styles, two great works! The pamoison, circa 1930 and the Ecce Homo, a decade later… When it was stored, it was folded up for storage and, despite being flattened, the mark is persistent. In the performance of Dierickx, I am not sure that the crowd chose Barabas… It was a real discovery for us that this beautiful Belgian artist! Even found in leaves and dusty, these drawings, once prepared and framed, reveal all the talent of Dierickx, close to artists like Nicolas Eeckmann, Fritz Van den Berghe, Constant Permeke or other typically Flemish expressionists such as Anto Carte, representing Fêtes , processions, fairs in the great tradition of Flemish painters dating back to the 17th century with the Brughels, but treated with great modernity. Other facets of his work show us his projects for frescoes or large decorations, often exotic, while in the old watercolors, we find a Symbolist vein with an elongated barrel. We dedicated an exhibition to it (pdf catalog available by email) with the first ones found, but we have bought many since! Do not hesitate to ask us for photos or additional information by email or phone. In partnership with the Galerie Lafouresse, we are specialists in paintings on the Basque Country, the Landes and the Arcachon Basin.
