Beautiful painting representing an animated scene of characters at the seaside. Quite in the style of Eugène Isabey: two seamstresses and a fisherman, at the bottom of the cliffs, struggle with the wind. The sea is stormy, the weather stormy. Superb light, lots of movement. Signed lower right A.Lamy. Pierre Auguste Lamy, contemporary of Eugène Isabey, is rather known for his engravings and lithographs. This painting was most likely painter by the artist, influenced by Isabey. Good condition, to report a small repair at the bottom, to the left of the basket, not very visible (see photo of the back of the table). Two small alterations at the top also, very small.
