Table on silk satin embroidered with polychrome silk threads. Embroidery work in launched and chenille stitches. Symbolizing love represented by two flaming hearts placed on an antique column framed by two flowered Medicis vases in a gap of greenery. A couple of doves in the blue sky hold a large garland of roses above the hearts. Work from the Empire or Restoration period, early 19th century. Dimensions: 35 cm x 29.5 cm frame 22.5 cm x 16.5 cm embroidery Condition: very good condition of the embroidery. The colors remained fresh and contrasting. The palm leaf frame in gilded wood from the Empire or restoration period is in its original condition with its small gaps on the edge. To be perfect, it will require a light restoration. The glass is old, slightly wavy. A romantic subject all in delicacy which will add to your room or your alcove a touch of deliciously old-fashioned charm ...
