Jean-jules Dufour : "pine Et Bruyeres"

Jean-Jules Dufour (1889-1973) : “Pine and heather”, oil on canvas 58 X 44 cm, poorly reassembled on a new frame that is a little too small, soiling, a dent and splinters. This Toulouse student, a pupil of Cormon, was as much an engraver and illustrator as a painter. His touch, at the hinge between post-impressionism and wild beasts, superbly suggests the vibration of light through the foliage.
