French School Circa 1930 : "the See At Low Side"

French school circa 1930: "The sea at low tide", oil on canvas 50 X 65 cm, without frame, a small lack on the right, soiling. I believe I bought it over twenty-five years ago and yet this navy, with its unfinished side, still intrigues me. We feel that it is the paw of a real painter, but who? A superb composition succeeding in giving the impression of the immensity of the sea on a reduced format… I am delivering this painting to you while I can still climb into my attic where I have installed my "ripening room", namely a kind of library with paintings where I stored the works of quality, but with an illegible signature, even anonymous while waiting for the serendipity to make me cross his brother in a catalog, a book or an exhibition, thus allowing me to identify them… Oh! It still happens to me three or four times a year, sometimes on works acquired 30 years previously, sometimes the previous month.
