Plate is richly decorated with Russian slavic patern in a Bilibin style,monogram "AB" under the Russian princely crown. In the bottom dark blue underglaze mark of KPM Berlin. In good, undamaged condition, one plate with minimal surface scratches in the glaze. Diameter approx. 25 cm. Rare. Prince Alexander Nikititch Volkonsky 1811 - 1878, nephew of Decembrist S. G. Volkonsky, privy councilor (1865) of the Foreign Ministry, 1858 in Saxony, 1860 - 1870 in Spain and Italy. Writer, collector of painting and sculpture.
