Beautiful box in grained black morocco and iron fittings. Mounted on four ball feet, it opens with a domed cover with oblique engagement. Beautiful trim of three frets maintaining the three hinges and finished with a fleur-de-lys fleuron, iron spandrels cut out at the angles, stirrup handle and lock entry with elbow hasp on plate forming a heart. Original key. The interior is sheathed in original green silk. Tiny small lack on a spandrel and some leather gaps under the box. France at the beginning of the 17th century. An almost similar copy is reproduced in the catalog of the third sale of the collection of Michel Rullier of February 9, 2011 at the Drouot hotel, number 285, page 239 of the catalog.
