"Jar For Tea Leaves"
Jar for storing loose leaf tea, in faceted gray stoneware with black blue enamel covered. China. Period of the Tang or the Five Dynasties. All the art of the potter consisted in perfecting the different viscosities of the enamel layers to obtain runs at various heights. The base remains bare to better highlight the quality of the enamel. Deep colors, spangled with reflections, thick and intact drops of enamel, make this vase a rare work of art.
