APPART SPEAR Democratic Republic of the Congo First half of the 20th century Wood, iron and pigments H. 150 cm approx. Large leafy spear in wood, engraved with an openwork and incised decoration mixing openwork and oblique triangles, underlined with white pigments. A twisted wire animates the junction part between the point and the shaft. This type of lance was not intended for combat but for ceremonial rites. Text and photos © FCP CORIDON
