Étienne Morillon (1884 1949) is a French painter and engraver Student of the School of Fine Arts in Lyon from 1901 to 1904, He meets Utrillo and Derain and discovers the avant-garde movements : pointillism, fauvism and cubism.
He exhibited at the Salon d'Automne in Lyon, then between 1914 and 1924, at the Salon des Indépendants in Paris In 1920, he was at the origin of the group of artists Les Ziniards and participated in the founding of the Salon du Sud-Est in 1924. The years 1930-1940 mark the peak of his art: he passes for one of the masters of Lyon painting.
