"Emile Gallé - Art Nouveau Butterfly Nesting Tables"
Superb and rare series of nesting tables by Emile Gallé, leader of the Nancy school with Majorelle. Walnut legs, very fine inlaid patterns, decorated with four butterflies. Japanese-style signatures on each plate. Each tray has a different flower pattern: Clematis, Hyacinth, Water Iris, Narcissus. The feet are carved in the naturalistic way, with a pattern of flowers and asymmetrical branches. Period early twentieth century, art nouveau. very good state.
