"Woman Portrait Painting Jules De Lacger 1881"
Portrait in oil on canvas of a woman seen from three quarters and dressed in black silk with a white serrated collar surmounted by a bouquet of three white roses. Probably representing the Baroness of Lagatellerie for whom he had already done a portrait work in photography (great resemblance). The canvas and the paint are in good condition, no peeling of the paint or prior restoration, only a slight hole of about 1mm at the level of the woman's forehead (see photo). Canvas signed and dated upper right. Period frame in very good general condition, a small chip in the lower left corner.
