Its style is typical for the period 1680-1710.
It is hallmarked with three clearly legible hallmarks: the hand for the city of Antwerp, a date letter B crowned for the year 1702 or 1728 and a maker's mark representing a volcano in eruption whose identity we do not know until today.
There are some signs of wear of the vermeil on the cut.
The foot was weighted in the twentieth century to make it more stable.
