"Satirical Engraving. "do They Think Of Music". Around 1840."
Polished wood frame, beige mat with gold mesh. Frame dimensions: 36 x 43 cm.
Dimensions at sight of the engraving: 20 x 27 cm. The photographs were taken while keeping the glass from which some reflections.
Inscriptions: In Paris at Basset Estampes rue St Jacques N ° 64.
André-Martial Basset (1795-1869).
Publisher and merchant of prints; wallpaper manufacturer and dealer. - Son of the merchant and publisher of prints Paul-André Basset (1759-1829). In 1819 took over the paternal fund. In August 1833 resells his fund to Édouard Hocquart who, following his bankruptcy in 1840, resells it to him on April 1, 1841. On March 1, 1845, transfers the company to his son Jules-André Basset (1819-1885). Died in Oct. 1869.
