A historical and anecdotal painting with modern and post-impressionist technique for this oil on cardboard by the painter Horace Richebé. The beautifully framed work in a 19th century frame represents the Tunisian Pavilion at the Colonial Exhibition in Marseille which was held from April 15 to November 18, 1906 on the maneuvering field of the Prado roundabout, today 'hui Parc Chanot. It measures frame included 44 cm by 67 cm and 22.5 cm by 47 cm without the frame. In excellent condition, it is signed lower right and located lower left. Horace Richebé was born in Algiers where his father was a teacher. He studied at the Beaux Arts in Marseille then in Paris in Gérôme's studio. he entered a box for the Prix de Rome, but he quickly discovered what to take from school and what to leave behind. He returned to Marseilles in 1902 and acquired a fine clientele of collectors.
