"An Oil On Canvas Of An Obstacle Course With Monkeys, Late Nineteenth"
The monkeys, are very often painted in the 18th century: in painter, dressed as humans... Our painting takes up this iconographic tradition. Here, the dogs are ridden by monkeys dressed as humans. They take up the usual jockey leading a horse race, a very famous sport in the 19th century.
