This painting from the beginning of the 18th century has a very strong personality due to the agility of the brush and the deliberately ordered and systematic treatment of the waves which also brings a certain naïveté.
The rough sea, very present balances with the sky with changing colors.
Three fishermen in a small and fragile boat, fish in a dangerous sea and give an epic touch to this scene which takes place at the mouth of a fictitious port with its constructions, towers and chapel.
Very good state. Old re-covering.
Does not have a frame.
