Scene from the banks of the Seine at Port Marly Signed lower right Marius Eraud Oil on mahogany panel (Seals on the back), 31 x 56 cm PROVENANCE Private collection until May 2021 THE ARTIST Gerharda Hermina Marius, born June 7 1854, was a pupil of Jan Striening in Deventer and August Allebé at the Academy of Amsterdam. Marius painted, was an art critic, and published articles on art. PUBLICATION Dutch Painters of the 19th Century, The Antique Collectors' Club, Woodbridge, Suffolk.
